 A Story Connecting Cultures

In January 2026, we had the honour of launching Woven Worlds at the Institut Français d’Indonésie in Jakarta, as part of La Nuit de la Lecture, a French literary celebration bringing people together through the joy of reading and storytelling.

Invited by the Institut Français d’Indonésie, Milou was proud to celebrate Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind its centuries-old rattan traditions.

The launch brought stories and craftsmanship to life through interactive workshops, live demonstrations and conversations about cultural exchange, natural materials and the beautiful stories behind handmade objects.

More than a book launch, the event was an opportunity to share our passion for Indonesian craftsmanship, introduce children and families to the origins of the objects that surround them, and celebrate the knowledge and traditions passed down through generations.

To our delight, the celebration also attracted national media attention, with coverage in several Indonesian newspapers and on Antara TV Indonesia.

Missed our book launch? Here is a little recap
